I was only six when my U2 obsession began. My older sister and I started our day each morning with a heavy dose of MTV and one of the main videos in rotation was “Gloria” by a group of young Irishmen, set to conquer the world. We loved it, and began buying everything they released. In fact, we still do.
Today, I’m an adult with a real (PR/marketing) job and real bills to pay, but I don’t let that get in the way of my habit. I collect and trade U2 swag, take U2-themed vacations and attend as many U2 concerts as the pocketbook will allow. Through births, deaths, boyfriends, schools, jobs and relocations, the music of U2 has been there for me.
